Sprinkled Rainbow

Color is so much fun! This activity allows kids to be creative while using a creative medium. Pick a color, any color, or follow along the ROYGBIV rainbow. Either way, this activity is sure to bring a smile.

Supplies Needed:

  • Any Type of Paper (Seen above: poster paper with rainbow border)

  • Different Colored Sprinkles

  • Non-Toxic Liquid Glue

  • Paper Cups

  • Popsicle Sticks

  • Different Colored Non-Toxic Washable Markers

  • Pencil

Prep for the Adults:

Using the pencil, draw a rainbow shape.

Outline the pencil with black marker, to make the lines thicker and easier to color in between.

Pour different colored sprinkles into little child-sized cups. Do the same with the glue.

Step-by-Step:

Gather the glue, sprinkles, popsicle sticks, markers and paper. Optional: cover your table with a disposable cover for easy clean-up!

The markers are used to color in the sections of the rainbow. (Any colors can be used! Have fun experimenting with different ones.)

The popsicle sticks are used to spread the glue on top of the marker sections one by one.

Sprinkle (or pour, but it is more difficult and more messy) the sprinkles on top of the glue. Use any color, or match the color to the marker!

Repeat until every section is sprinkled.

Wait for the glue to dry and then shake the leftover sprinkles off. Messy projects are the most fun!
